Community. Conversation. Philanthropy. is a philanthropy discussion series for donor-advised fundholders of the Athens Area Community Foundation (AACF). Conversations give fundholders and board members a chance to learn about pressing issues our community faces.
February’s program brought in Kathleen Biggins, founder and president of C-Change Conversations, to speak about climate change, its effects down to the community level, and what we can do about it. AACF showcased the Oconee River Land Trust as an example of how local philanthropy can make an environmental difference by working with private landowners and supporters to preserve forests, streams, and other open spaces.
ORLT is grateful to AACF for highlighting how ORLT’s land conservation work can help meet the urgent challenges of climate change.
