Thanks to everyone who came out for our monitoring hike at Tallassee Forest Nature Preserve on Saturday! We had a great day exploring this beautiful property. Along the way to the Middle Oconee River we walked through an extensive holly forest and a sea of river oats, and got just a little muddy. Big thanks to Jim Porter who came along and shared his wealth of knowledge about butterflies and history of the land. We can't wait for the property to be open to the public so everyone can enjoy this special place.
