Protected Land

Since its inception in 1993, ORLT has preserved 32,000 acres on over 140 different conservation easements, ranging from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to the sandy soils of the longleaf pine country and on to the coastal wetlands. ORLT conservation easements can be found in these Georgia counties: Baldwin, Barrow, Bibb, Butts, Chatham, Cherokee, Clarke, Coweta, Crawford, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hancock, Heard, Houston, Jackson, Jasper, Jones, Madison, Meriwether, Monroe, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Spalding, Taliaferro, Troup, and Walton.

2017 Protected Properties

2016 Protected Properties

ORLT permanently conserved 9,700 acres of land in 2016. Partnerships with public and private landowners led to the protection of a sustainable farm on the Alcovy River, two miles of stream buffer on the Broad River, pink lady slipper orchids in Milton, and many other important properties.
