Past Event: February 5: Winter Hike 1:00pm
by Carla on December 1st, 2016

Join ORLT at 1pm on the scenic Lotsanotty property in Jackson County. Located on the Middle Oconee River, this forested property's trails wind past a hardwood forest, a scenic stream, and many native plants. ORLT staff will lead a 2-mile nature walk but we encourage hikers to share their outdoor knowledge with the group too.

The winter hike will also serve as the annual visit to this privately held conservation easement. Land trusts are required to visit protected properties each year and ORLT would love to have you join us at the Lotstanotty easement!

Wear hiking shoes and outdoor weather clothing. Bring water and snacks if needed. There are no facilities at Lotsanotty as it is an undeveloped forest.

Meet at the property on Ford Rd. in Jackson County.

Directions: From Athens, head north on Hwy 129. As you approach Hwy 330, get into the left hand turn land but PASS 330 and turn left on the next road: Lebanon Church Rd. Once on Lebanon Church Rd you will pass Atticus church immediately on your left. Continue down Lebanon Church Road for about 2 miles and as you are coming up a hill, look for Ford Rd on your left and a "dead end" sign. Turn left onto Ford Rd, go about 900 ft, and park
